Accredited Building Consultants Inc. is a family-owned and operated business. We have been serving the South and Southwest Florida area since 1993. The company is a State of Florida Licensed Home Inspection Company, License Number HI-278 Our chief inspector and founder Fred Sylvester has been a resident of Florida since 1973. Fred’s core knowledge is derived from 40 years of construction experience and maintains an active State of Florida Certified Building Contractors License # CBC-025051 (1983). He also holds a SSBCCI (ICC) Certified Building Inspectors License # 5110 (1993) an InterNACHI Certified Inspectors License # 10082403 and is a Licensed PaRR Disaster Inspector. Chief Inspectors Background and Core Knowledge

Fred owned and operated a high end carpentry business with up to 25 frame and trim carpenters in the 1970’s and 80’s. In the early 80's Fred obtained his Florida Building Contractors License. He owns and operates a small Building Contractors business, Sylvester Homes, Inc. Combined, these companies built new and remodeled hundreds of structures in the service area.  In 1992 Hurricane Andrew hit the South Florida coast and Fred became a private sector damage assessment and roof inspector in Dade County, Fl serving there for two years and subsequently opened Accredited Building Consultants, Inc. in 1993. In 1994 Fred was announced president of the local Building Industry Association (LBIA) showing his commitment to the community and the industry. Fred also has an extensive background in Insurance Wind Mitigation Inspections and Property Insurance Valuation Appraisals, Four Point and Roof Insurance Inspections.

The company’s customer care representative is Nancy Sylvester whom is a Florida Licensed Mortgage broker and Realtor. She brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the business making it very easy for clients to communicate their needs.

As a leader in the industry and in order to maintain our high level of quality service, we take pride in continuing education and staying abreast of the ever changing updates that are a constant in this industry. As an example when the State of Florida enacted the law that Home Inspectors be licensed on July 1, 2010 and by July 1, 2011 we became the 278^th State of Florida Certified Home Inspector. It takes commitment and continuing education to stay abreast of the ever changing field of inspections. Don't be fooled into getting a low cost inspection you just might get a below average result. 

We are active members of InterNACHI     International Association of Certified Home Inspectors InterNACHI works to provide continuing education and promote a professional code of ethics for its members. The company makes a commitment to provide each and every client an easy to understand yet decisive narrative inspection report. We understand that one person cannot be an expert of all phases of a home or building and we have aligned ourselves with professional service providers that we have done business with over the years that are licensed, insured and skilled in their field of work.
